"We know the transition to a net zero economy is the growth story of the 21st century." Bob Ward, London School of Economics
Earth is our haven. We need nature alive and flourishing, in order to flourish and survive ourselves. Even if we were to colonize the far reaches of space, Earth will always remain our Haven, that pale blue dot of fragile but beautiful life. But it finds itself in a dire predicament. Nature - the life support system of civilization - is steadily approaching a cascading collapse, with many parts of our global life support system already destroyed. Political councils have so far - time and time again - proven themselves unable to handle the situation, because they are pulled down by political competition, and by an interminable focus on reelection, and are thus averse to making long term investments at the cost of money in the short term. Therefore we have the Protectorate of the Haven [of nature on Earth]. It is only based on two things; [1] Science, and [2] Need. The Protectorate of the Haven, of Nature itself, has no political power at all, and never will. It only has economic power.
The long term goal of the Protectorate of the Haven, is a stable and prosperous nature on Earth, as close as possible to what our nature and the atmosphere looked like, before our civilization commenced.
The crisis undermining the Holocene climate - the climate that has enabled human civilization - demands a level of action that that no parliament has succeeded in delivering, and it is so imminent and imperative, that we can't afford to wait. Therefore, we also have The Protectorate of the Haven; of Nature and our Climate. We love our Earth, and its nature and life. We have to protect it.
Besides being a moral and existential question, the pressing issue of natural destruction is also an economical one. Any intelligent investor, capitalist and company knows that the science is real, and if the trends of climate disruption are not altered - then the actor in question will lose significantly. Whether in the short run or the long run, increasing conflict, poverty and resource scarcity [all of which are consequences of climate disruption] [not to mention direct damages to people's health and premature deaths, due to pollution etc.] will come back and bite all economic actors. Ultimately, it is a sign of intelligence that one wants to protect nature, stabilize what we can, and reverse and regrow what is already damaged. Only then, can true financial rewards for economic actors be maximized.
The economic fundament of the Protectorate of the Haven is a 5% cut of all daily Tell mintage. That is why Tell can be considered mainly a Life DRC, and partially a Climate DRC.
The budget of the Protectorate of the Haven, is invested in [1] anything that mitigates the impact or severity of climate change, or of the destruction of nature [such as deforestation, overfishing etc.], and plays a role in eventually putting a full end to the two, and [2] any existing process that can and must be transformed from unsustainable [worsening climate change, emission of greenhouse gases, and destruction of nature] to sustainable. It is invested without any returns, i.e. without the gaining of ownership or profit shares of any process. Farmers, business owners and local governments are examples of actors we will help.
Two of the areas with the greatest impact and significance to fund includes [1] carbon sinks of different forms [including natural and living carbon sinks, and possibly trials of artificial ones], and [2] contributions to people locally, so that they can [a] afford to protect what natural ecosystems still exist, [b] allow certain vital ecosystems to regrow, and [c] not to destroy further ecosystems for the sake of [for instance] logging [deforestation], unsustainable agriculture or overfishing. An important factor to remember is this; The merit [commonly known as money] that any process or actor gets from The Protectorate of the Haven is part of the free market: It is a question of free market revenue on the part of the actor, for providing a certain value to our world [in this case that value is climate and nature protection].
All investments will be made public, and before any investments are made, the budget of the Protectorate is simply accumulating day by day in the form of that 5% cut - waiting to be used [but besides that, the Protectorate account is a normal account any other - subject to both Expansion and Apoptosis].
Notice: Anyone who partakes in any form of climate mitigation or transition to a more sustainable operation, will be eligible to profit due to the protectorate [climate] fund. To already existing businesses there is suddenly a new revenue stream to be had, and entirely new businesses may be enabled. That is Recursive Capitalism in action.

To date, Tuesday the 26th of January 1 AR, the first invesments are yet to be made. The budget of the Protectorate of the Haven, is accumulating and waiting to be used.
Furthermore, the thing about the Life DRC in regards to the environment, is that it indirectly will likely have a far bigger impact on stopping climate change and global warming, than a dedicated Climate DRC would ever have [though the impact of the Life DRC is difficult to measure]. Why? It's very simple: If you have ever been to a less fortunate neighborhood or a developing country, did any of the people you encountered there start complaining about global warming? Sometimes they might have done so - if effects have befallen them personally - but in most cases the answer is no, because they were too busy trying to get by. If you have educated, healthy and economically well off friends on the other hand, have any of them ever complained about global warming? It is very likely. There is an inescapable connection between economic standard, and caring about your environment: If the fruits of our Earth were divided more fairly, virtually everyone would care about their environment in one sense or another, and many would care about global warming.
Jordan B. Peterson expressed it with the following words:
”The data that I have read indicate that if you can get the GDP up to about 5,000 USD [per capita] a year, then they start caring about the environment, and the environment cleans up. So you could make a perfectly strong case, I think, and a reasonable one, perhaps even a humane one, that the actual idea would be to get everybody in the world who is poor, desperately so, out of poverty as fast as possible - which would increase consumption in the short term - because then they would start to care about the environment and things would clean up.”
That is what Tell [the Life DRC] is doing.
Our use of the word ”Protectorate” here may redefine the word to a certain degree. Our possible redefinition of the word ”Protectorate” for the sake of this name, is very simple. We let it mean: ”Some structure that protects something else”. The word ”Protectorate” as we use it here [and to some degree possibly redefine it], has nothing whatsoever to do with states, territory, government or military.
And what that ”something else” is [that it protects] is in this case nature and our climate, i.e. the foundation of our shelter and safe harbor in infinite cold space. That ”something else” is our Haven. That is what the name ”The Protectorate of the Haven” means: Something that protects our nature and climate.
Even if we humans one day were to travel to other planets and maybe even further into the unknown, we want our Earth to remain a Haven for millions of years. We want Earth for all coming generations, to still be the literal natural paradise that the Holocene enabled. That is the raison d'être: Protecting nature and our climate with a strong financial backbone.
Strong powers want to exploit nature and the habitats and species in it, and gradually destroy them in the process, also undermining our economies and our civilization's very means of survival. Nature truly is our life support system, and the following is a sobering fact:
30-50% of all species currently in existence face extinction by mid century at this pace. That is 1000 times the background rate [of about 5 extinctions of species per year]. Dozens of species go extinct every day.
Strong powers want to exploit nature, and gradually destroy it in the process. We are going to be one of the strongest powers to defend it. To be a Protectorate for it. This - is what the Protectorate of the Haven is all about.
